Dallas-based Mizzen+Main announced Watt as the company's official brand ambassador on Sept. 16. As part of the deal, Watt will receive an undisclosed equity share of the business, reported ESPN.com, joining the company's other big name equity partners like Houston-born Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell and Vegas Tech Fund, launched by Zappos founder Tony Hsieh.

Watt already appears on the homepage of the company's website as an "Icon of Performance." The brand has introduced a "Shop J.J.'s Looks" feature, which so far includes three dress shirts for $125 each and one patriotic T-shirt for $30. For every patriotic T-shirt sold, Mizzen+Main donates $1 to the Navy SEAL Foundation.

“The response to J.J. Watt becoming an official supporter of the brand has been overwhelmingly positive," Mizzen+Main cofounder and CEO Kevin Lavelle said in an emailed statement to the Dallas Business Journal."J.J. embodies everything the Mizzen+Main brand stands for. Both new and existing customers are excited about his endorsement of and genuine appreciation for our apparel. There is no one with a better reputation on and off the field than J.J. and his support has already translated to a direct increase in sales for our brand."

Clothing by Mizzen+Main is available online and at retailers nationwide. The company is known for its moisture-wicking, machine-washable dress shirts.

"I've never been a big fan of dressing up because it can be uncomfortable and hot, especially here in Houston," Watt told ESPN.com. "But now I actually kind of look forward to it. I wore Mizzen+Main once, it kept me comfortable and cool, and I was hooked."

This is the third company the star defensive end has signed up as a spokesperson or ambassador for this year.
Last month, Watt signed a multiyear deal to join Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning as the official spokesperson for Kentucky-based Papa John's International Inc. (Nasdaq: PZZA).
