Kent Rathbun, Paradies To Elevate The Dining Experience At Dallas Fort Worth International Airport
Culinary Duo to Bring Three New Rathbun-Themed Concepts to Terminal D DFW Airport
By Cocktail Culture Staff

Texas culinary legend Kent Rathbun revealed today that he and Paradies, a leading airport restaurateur and concessionaire, have been awarded the contract for three new restaurants at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport's (DFW) Terminal D. Delivering exceptional menus and distinctive atmospheres, the restaurant trio consists of The Lounge at Abacus by Kent Rathbun, KR's Whitetail Bistro and Kent Rathbun's Aviator Bar.

This is the second consecutive dining contract Kent Rathbun Concepts and Paradies have earned in the past two months, with Rathbun's new Hickory restaurant opening next year in Terminal B.

"We're excited to bring a new level of dining experiences to DFW Airport," said Kent Rathbun. "Too often, airport dining is an afterthought, but by offering three distinct concepts focused on top-notch food and hospitality, we want to ensure our patrons can enjoy a memorable meal at this stage of their journey.

Patterned after Abacus--a Forbes Four Star Award winner that was recently named Best Fine Dining Bar in Dallas--The Lounge at Abacus by Kent Rathbun will provide an array of eclectic and enticing small plates like the famous "Lobster Shooter." Award-winning Mixologist Jordan Gantenbein will lead the training and direction of the sophisticated wine list and creative signature cocktails, including the popular Buffalo Trace Blackberry Smash.

At KR's Whitetail Bistro, Chef Rathbun will embrace the city's French roots with a modern Texas twist. French cuisine will receive a modern makeover with a menu that utilizes the freshest local ingredients to allow the spirit of Texas to shine through every bite. Stylish dishes such as the classic Croque Monsieur blend with a modern aesthetic synonymous with the Kent Rathbun brand.

Kent Rathbun's Aviator Bar pays homage to pilot Wiley Post, a Texas native and famed American aviator. The restaurant's craft beer selections will highlight local and regional brewers. The meticulously curated wine list will offer something for everyone. And Rathbun-influenced specialty cocktails like the gin-based Aviation and the Ginger-Basil Gimlet will complement flavorful bar bites like Steamed Ginger-Shrimp Dumplings and delicious Glazed Pork Jowl Steam Buns.

"Paradies is thrilled to impress passengers at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport with the amazing culinary talents of Chef Rathbun," said Bill Casey, Paradies' senior vice president for food and beverage. "These three new concepts will continue to elevate the dining environment within this first-class, internationally renowned airport." The three restaurants are scheduled to open at DFW's Terminal D in late 2016.
