Cindy Crawford’s Creating a Show About the '80s Modeling Wars
By Yahoo.com

If there’s anyone that knows what it was like to model in the 1980s — the really big hair, dangerous working conditions (aka posing with exotic animals), and shoulder pads — it’s Cindy Crawford. So the fact that the she’s the brains behind a new television show about the the industry during the era means it’s bound to be on point.

According to Variety, the 49-year-old has partnered with NBC to make her producing debut with the tentatively titled series “Icon.” Actors Anne Heche and James Tupper will serve as executive producers. Ironically enough, Robin Bissell, the Hunger Games scribe, has signed on to pen the project, which seems to indicate that the show won’t hold back when it comes to backstage cat fights.

But, while the rise of the supers including Brooke Shields, Christie Brinkley, Elle MacPherson, Carol Alt, and others is well documented, the entire show will reportedly be a fictionalized portrayal of their heyday, following the wars between Ford Modeling Agency and Elite Model Management. Crawford will not appear on the show, but there’s still hope that her daughter, Kaia Gerber, who recently posed for CR Fashion Book and Vogue Italy, will make her first acting appearance.

No word yet on who the costume designer will be, but one thing’s for sure, that person’s got some big shoes to fill — literally.
