[ New York City ]   Top 10 Tables To Book Right Now In NYC

1. Tao Downtown
What’s sexier than dining under the serene gaze of a floor-to-ceiling, multi-armed stone Buddha? A restaurant with a nightclub vibe, Tao scores style points for its over-the-top opulence and Eastern-inspired décor. Perhaps not the most romantic place to bring a date, as the micro-mini clad patrons provide a constant distraction, but hey, a little eye candy never hurt to enliven a mood.

Tao Downtown
The Maritime Hotel
92 9th Ave,
New York, NY 10011
(212) 888-2724

2. Perry Street

Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s sleek-as-the-MOMA’s far West Village haunt could be easily mistaken for another Richard Meijer high rise, but inside you’ll find one of the most elegant, celebrity-studded gatherings downtown. Added bonus? The flattering glow of Edison bulbs delicately illuminating your passion fruit chili martini.

Perry St.
176 Perry St,
Manhattan, NY 10014
(212) 352-1900

3. Bar Italia

It feels like it belongs in South Beach rather than the Upper East Side, where the outdoor seating feels private and the indoors is a sexy white temple of singles and locals sharing a private secret. The former chef from Cipriani is whipping up inventive Northern Italian fare in the kitchen. So if you happen to find yourself north midtown, throw on your highest heels, clingiest dress and prepare to be swept up into a stylish culinary fantasy that’s far too sexy for it’s address.

768 Madison Ave,
New York, NY 10065
(212) 249-5300

4. Buddahkan

Along the same lines as Tao, Buddahkan impresses with its excessive sultriness, fanciness and vastness. Better for groups than one-on-one, it’s a good place to throw a party then whisky your inebriated date elsewhere for a nightcap. The warm glow from the gargantuan chandeliers and candelabra-topped tables are the perfect aphrodisiac for a stage-setting seduction scene.

75 Ninth Ave. (16th St.)
New York, NY 10011

5. Catch

An unassuming entrance off West 13th street, velvet rope and burly doorman may give Catch a clubby first impression, but it’s a far cry from the MePa “party restaurants” we’ve grown to loathe. Quite the contrary, Top Chef Winner Chef Hung Huynh’s sexy gastro denizen cranks out some of the most disarmingly amazing seafood concoctions west of Maine. After dessert head upstairs to the dance party and work off some of that Peanut Butter Cup Soufflé.

21 9th Avenue (13th Street)
New York, NY 10011

6. Koi

A spin-off of the scenester-central Los Angeles eatery of the same name. The décor is highlighted by the attention-nabbing net-like contraption that hugs the ceiling of the long room. This place is grand to say the least. If you're looking to impress, be it with a date, friends, or coworkers, this is the spot.

The Bryant Park Hotel
40 W. 40th St.
New York, NY 10018

7. STK

A steakhouse for women. Brilliant. This concept sets the tone for a predominantly male crowd on expense accounts peppered by single ladies and bachelorette parties dining on anything but steak. Nevertheless, the dim lighting, white leather banquettes and fireplace teeter on the verge of dare I say, romantic.

26 Little West 12th St.
New York, NY 10014

8. NoMad Rooftop

Those looking for an all-out romance extravaganza, the Cupola, at the top of the no-mad will not be outshined. The copper-topped private space feels like your dining in a Cathedral with Empire State Building views. The staff will help you plan a menu and you’ll have an entire architectural structure to yourself. Perfect for hiding that Tiffany ring at the bottom of a champagne flute.

1170 Broadway
(between 27th St & 28th St)
New York, NY 10001

9. The Arctic Room, Hotel Americano

A starlit rooftop. Furry chairs, fondue (the official cheese dish of sharing) and South American rib eye—all a stone’s throw away from an absurdly large hot tub. Poolside champagne bottle service. Good thing that Speedo fits nicely under your suit.

 Hôtel Americano
518 W 27th St (between 10th and 11th),

10. Nai Tapas

Inconspicuously located in a tiny East Village basement, Nai Tapas is stripped of any needless embellishment or kitsch Andalusian paraphernalia. It really seems just like any other tapas joint—until the Flamenco show gets going. Before you know it the group of father, son, ex-wife and wild card 4th dancer will be crooning, clapping, spinning and stomping so passionately your sangria might fall off the table. Prepare to not speak the entire evening. This is a third date kind of place, lovebirds. Trust us.
